The focus areas at both blogs are the same, with each blog tailored to its particular jurisdiction. Thus, the areas of focus for The Ninth Circuit Blog of Appeals are:

(1) substantive legal developments in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals;
(2) procedural law relating to the prosecution of appeals, writ petitions, and post-trial motions in federal courts in the Ninth Circuit;
(3) practical skills essential to appellate practice. (Since this  area is less tied to a particular jurisdiction, most posts about appellate practice skills will likely be posted at The California Blog of Appeal and linked here.)
